ATR 72

****************************************************************************

The ATR 72 is a 66 to 74 passenger twin turbo-prop
regional airliner. It's purpose is to ferry passengers from the smaller
airports to the bigger airports so that they can make connections to bigger
cities and back again. It also does quite nicely in connecting the smaller
airports with each other.

This is a totally redesigned version of Cyber Air's ATR-72.

This plane was designed and tested using FSFS and FS 5.1.
Chances are that you'll probably want to fly it using FS98. That
shouldn't be a problem as the ATR has been tested in FS98 and I haven't
heard of any problems.

If you do plan on flying this aircraft in FS98, be aware that it has
to be converted first using FS98CONV.EXE. This is a self extracting
file that converts all FSFS built aircraft into a form recognized by
FS98. FS98CONV.EXE is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft's
web page or from the Utilities Library of either FSFORUM or PCW
Simgames Forum on Compuserve. I would imagine that the file can also
be found on some of the better web sites such as SurClaro or
the MicroWings web page as well.

Installation:

FS 5.1

To access the AFX and other zource code files create a
subdirectory on your hard drive. You may call it whatever
you want and it doesn't have to be part of the c:\AF5
sudirectory either. It can stand alone. Then, copy:
CA-ATR72.AFX
CA-ATR72.AFA
all the files containing the .PCX extension

Then, click-on the Aircraft Factory icon and change the
project directory to the one you've just created. Unpack
the project from the packing crate. And you're ready to
go.

Aircraft Data:

The ATR 72 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney P&W Canada 127
turbo-prop engines rated at 2,480 shaft horse power each.
It has a maximum take off weight of 47,400 lbs. This
is with 66 passengers and enough fuel to carry it about
1200 nm.

Due to the limitations of FSFS/FS, that is to say that it
doesn't support turbo-props very well, I've set this
aircraft to work with a jet panel.

Acknowlegements:

I'd like to thank the Cyber Air/CARTS Execs and HC's
for putting the ATR through it's paces.

Legal Stuff:

This aircraft is freeware. You may do anything you like
with it except sell it. Enjoy!
